Kitchens

The kitchen is one of the most essential rooms in your home. It’s a space where family and friends gather to create culinary masterpieces and lasting memories. A comfortable and functional kitchen begins with a thoughtful design, our Sugarbridge Kitchen & Bath specialty.

Kitchen Design Ideas That Fit Your Lifestyle

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all kitchen. Your kitchen should accommodate you and your lifestyle, not vice versa. Our designers help you create a custom solution that considers the size of your family and how often you entertain.

Major Components & Details of a New Kitchen

  1. Layout: With our client’s vision in mind, we first work on designing a natural feel and flow for the room. We consider adjacent rooms and doorways and often suggest moving or enlarging windows. Our goal is to achieve the very best floor plan for your new kitchen. This aspect of Design is what sets us apart from other Kitchen Design companies and Cabinetry Vendors. Working in a well-designed kitchen creates a comfortable space that makes you love to be in that room.

  2. Appliances: Sugarbridge works with knowledgeable appliance reps who will review all current and state of the art options. During that meeting, our rep will listen to your needs and suggest appliances accordingly. We can also send our clients to demonstrations if interested. Once there is a general list of appliance selections, Sugarbridge will continue the conversation with our clients to narrow the final list.

  3. Flooring: This is usually one of the first selections we handle with our clients. When choosing hardwood flooring, we will test various stains on site to make our selection. If interested in a tile or stone, we will help select a material that best fits the aesthetic.

  4. Cabinets: This is one of the most important aspects of the kitchen as this considers all your storage needs. From custom cabinet exterior details to custom interior storage configurations, the options are almost limitless. Thanks to our Cabinetry companies and millworkers, mostly anything we come up with is achievable.

  5. Countertops: We have solid relationships with our countertop vendors who know our aesthetic and will hold slabs for us when lots come in that are special or hard to acquire. We will search for the perfect slab for our clients until we find the right one and invite our clients to view the slab at the same time. Otherwise, if our clients are interested, we will take a tour of various countertop locations to browse options.

  6. Backsplash Tile: Usually, this detail will come later in the project once most of the other details have been manifested. This and Lighting will either make or break a design, so we are very keen on this selection.

  7. Paint Colors: If you can’t find the colors that work for your kitchen, you can easily have a custom color mixed.

  8. Cabinetry Hardware: We consider the hardware the “jewelry of the cabinetry” and take this selection very seriously. We will select various sizes of pulls depending on the size of the drawers and provide our installers with a “Hardware Map” to go off of during installation, so they know where to drill and install each piece. This is by no means standard.

Countertop Options

Many of our clients have “more counter space” on their list of must-haves for their kitchen. Countertops are one of the most versatile parts of a kitchen. They are where you prep food, store small appliances, stack dishes while cleaning up, and more. Countertops need to be equally durable and attractive. Countertops are available in a range of natural and synthetic materials, including:

  • Quartzite: Quartzite is extremely popular due to its marble-like appearance and granite-like properties, which make it an ideal choice to be used in kitchens. Quartzite is a hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Sandstone is converted into quartzite through heating and pressure related to tectonic compression within orogenic belts.

  • Granite: Granite offers an upscale appearance at an attractive price point. It looks fantastic in nearly any style kitchen and is a natural material, so no two pieces are identical. Granite is also durable and resists stains and scratches.

  • Marble: Kitchens with marble countertops have an elegant, luxurious appeal. Marble is available in various colors and dramatically increases your home’s value. It does need periodic resealing to prevent stains and is susceptible to chipping, but it is an excellent investment that will last years with proper upkeep.

  • Quartz: Quartz is an engineered material that offers the look of natural stone, like granite or marble. It’s durable, and the non-porous surface is easy to clean.

  • Wood: A wood countertop will bring warmth and classic style to your kitchen. The many varieties of wood available make it easy to incorporate into many interior designs, and you can coordinate it with your cabinetry and dining room furniture. If you choose a wood countertop, it will need regular sealing to prevent water damage and stains.

Choosing Kitchen Tile

The most popular materials for kitchen tile are stone, glass, and ceramic. Stone and ceramic tile can serve as flooring, but more delicate glass options are better suited for backsplashes. You can choose a uniform tile appearance or create an exciting pattern or mosaic.
